Roger Romagosa shares assemblage sculptural technique with students at Escola d’Art d’Olot

Artist Roger Romagosa explained the assemblage sculptural technique to baccalaureate and sculpture students at Escola d’Art i Superior de Disseny d’Olot last Friday afternoon. The masterclass shared the connections to landscapes in his art and how he works with objects found in each location, creating new pieces through assemblage.

Romagosa is at Faberllull doing an individual residency. He is an artist who focuses on the hierarchy of the landscape. He explores wastelands, abandoned factories, garden shacks, degraded urban areas and more to collect materials that have been left behind and breathe new life into them. Using the sculptural technique of assemblage, he creates landscapes and creatures from scrap metal, tiles and other items.
